Carate beach: an idyllic, unspoiled Costa Rican beach just for you
Situated in the jungle right on beautiful Carate beach, Finca Exotica is the closest beachfront lodge to the famous Corcovado National Park, on the southern coast of the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica.
One of the most remote beaches in Costa Rica, Carate is a long, scenic beach bordered by mesmerizing lush vegetation.
It’s the place for swimming, boogie-boarding, beachcombing, or just laying back in one of our hammocks under shady almond trees, reading and relaxing to the sound of thewaves.
Besides cooling off in the nice shimmering waters of this picturesque Costa Rican beach, you can witness olive ridley, leatherback, green and hawksbill sea turtles coming ashore for nesting, as well as outstanding mammals from the region, such as playful monkeys, squirrels and lazy tapirs coming out to the beach. And of course, a wonderful variety of marine life common in the area, like the majestic orca, dolphins and humpback whales.
Be sure to stop by our Beach House on your way there, to get beach towels, cool fruit juice and beach sports implements and check tide charts and other useful information.
On your way back you will also find fresh water, and showers and restrooms.
Oh, and you will probably delighted to know that during the dry season, we are lucky enough to observe the sun both rising and going down on the Ocean from our beach front. We even made a timelapse so you can enjoy it – just like we do every day! (January 2015).
